Dr. Henry brings to our senior administrative team her experience serving on faculty at New York Theological Seminary since 2014, first as an Adjunct Professor and most recently as Assistant Professor of Religious Education, Director of the Master’s of Religious Education program, and Director of the Master’s of Arts in Youth Ministry program.
Dr. Henry holds three degrees from Fordham University, a Ph.D. in Religious Education, an M.A. in Religious Education and an M.S.W., and a B.A. from Georgetown University. “I am excited to welcome Dr. Tamara Henry to the senior administrative team,” said President Dr. LaKeesha Walrond. “Her experience as both an academician and administrator is the perfect fit for the role of Interim Vice President for Academic Affairs and Academic Dean. I look forward to working with her in this new capacity and eagerly anticipate her creative and innovative impact in this assignment.”
Dr. Henry is also an ordained American Baptist Churches U.S.A. minister. A passionate scholar-practitioner connecting Church and Academy, she serves as the Minister of Youth at Lenox Road Baptist Church in Brooklyn, NY.
We appreciate Dr. Henry’s willingness to serve in this capacity and are confident that she is apt to guide the Academic Affairs Department and help push forward New York Theological Seminary’s mission and vision.
