Certificate Program Retreat – February 27, 2016
From the Director of the Certificate Program:
Dear All CP Students;
Welcome to a new, exciting, transformative and life-challenging spring semester in the Certificate Program. As we all know, the impending weather paralyzed many cities in the East Coast and we were forced to canceled the Jan 23rd retreat.
As promised, please be advised that the spring retreat has been rescheduled for Saturday, February 27, 2016 at Springfield Gardens UMC, 131-29 Farmers Boulevard in Springfield Gardens, Queens, 11434 from 8 a.m. – 4 p.m. (For directions, click HERE ). ALL onsite students are required to attend. Your Instructors will also be in attendance to support you. Online students are encouraged to attend, if they can .
On site students not attending for any reason, are required to write a 3-5 page paper on the topic of the retreat and forward it to the Director of the program at: Lcano@nyts.edu. Such paper will be graded and recorded in your transcript as Pass or No Credit. The Topic is: Counting the Cost, Restoring the Future, Ps 78: 1-6 and Luke 14:25-33.
Sites leading Worship and Praise will now have time to rehearse and represent you site well.
Morning session: Brooklyn (CNR) 9am-9:15am followed by Flushing, 9:15-9:30am
Afternoon session: Riverside Spanish 1:30pm-1:45pm followed by Passaic, 1:45pm-2:00pm
Graduating candidates: This is your time have your graduation pictures taken and order your graduation rings on premises. Graduation Exit Interview will also be conducted.
We will have a College Fair – representatives from College of New Rochelle and Pillar College will be available for those who would like to explore academic opportunities and follow your dreams. Remember, education is a powerful tool to achieve success.
As the retreat takes away one day of classes, please add one more day to your calendars so there are 12 sessions of classes.
Should you have any questions, feel free to contact your Director. It will be a blessing to assist you.
See you all on the 27th!
