2017 NYTS MPS Sing Sing Soiree

On Monday December 4, 2017 NYTS held a reception to celebrate the launch of the Master of Professional Studies at Sing Sing Mentoring Program. Guests experienced a “Special Exhibit” of the Master of Professional Studies Program and had the opportunity to meet program administrators and alumni of the program.

Master of Professional Studies (At Sing Sing Correctional Facility)

Since 1982, New York Theological Seminary has offered the Masters of Professional Studies (MPS) inside Sing Sing Correctional Facility. The program is the only one of its kind in theological education in North America. More than 425 candidates have completed the program and he recidivism rate for graduates from the MPS program is under 10%. Graduates who have been released have continued to carry that transformative work forward in society outside the walls of the correctional system.
