Rev. Dr. Alfred Correa, D.Min. 2010, to be ordained pastor of The Reformed Church of Huguenot Park
On Sunday December 16, 2012, at 3:00 p.m., the Rev. Dr. Alfred Correa, a chaplain who works with youth in the state prison system, will be ordained pastor of the The Reformed Church of Huguenot Park, where he has served for nearly four years.
Rev. Correa developed the first Youth Chaplaincy Certification Program in the country as part of his doctoral dissertation as he completed his doctorate at the NEW YORK THEOLOGICAL SEMINARY in 2010. He developed the training program for chaplains to deal with some of the many challenges faced by youth, including drug addiction, abandonment, gang culture, mental health and LGBT.
