Rev. Karen Hall-Clayton ’09 Eulogized

   AThe Rev. Karen Hall-Clayton ’09 funeral was held on November 25, 2009, at the Goodwill Baptist Church in the Bronx. She was married to Henry Clayton, and they had two daughters, Kayla and Kimora.

   In 1987 she began a career at All State Insurance Company as a Claim Representative, advanced to Fraud Investigator, and continued to work until her health would no longer allow.

   Karen was born in the Bronx to Pauline Bryant and Johnny Lee Hall. She graduated from John F. Kennedy High School, earned a Bachelors Degree in Economics from Syracuse University, and a Master of Divinity from New York Theological Seminary in May 2009.

   Karen was a member of Goodwill Baptist where she was baptised. She received her calling into ministry in 2003 and preached her initial sermon on May 16, 2004.

   She leaves her husband Henry; two daughters Kayla and Kimora; father Johnny Hall, Atlanta, Georgia; mother Pauline Bryant, Bronx, NY grandparents Cara Jones, Bronx, NY; Jessie and Charlie Hall Moultrie, Georgia; aunts Beverleen Jones, Bronx, NY, and Almeta Clark, Maryland; Sister Georgetta Clark, Maryland; Goddaughaters Destiny Joseph and Shanique Mayhew; a hosta of uncles, aunts, in-laws, cousins, a special friend Cheryl Waithe, Ohio, and many other close friends.
