Irvin Charles Lockman ’87 Obit

   The Rev. Irvin Charles Lockman, 80, died August 14. His service was held at the UMC in Baltimore with the Rev. Jeremiah Williams officiating.

   A native of Baltimore, Lockman grew up in Ames UMC and was an active participant in district conference and Northeastern Jurisdictional events.

  In 1970, he was appointed to Christ UMC in Baltimore, and served as the Hagerstown District Superintendent from 1975 to 1980. From 1980 to 1989 he served Metropolitan UMC in Baltimore; and in 2000 he was call out of retirement to pastor Macedonia UMC in Bambrills for two years.

   He graduated from Howard University Divinity School in 1955 and received a Doctor of Ministry degree in 1983 from New York Theological Seminary.
